The Need for Youth Voice in Community Schools: Webinar

Senior researcher Donna Wilkens will attend the upcoming monthly webinar series on youth voice in community schools.

Metis will join the Coalition for Community Schools Research Practice Network (CCS RPN) for November’s webinar devoted to exploring part of the community schools’ research agenda theme: Collaborative Leadership and Relational Trust.

Community schools are hubs of their neighborhoods and serve thousands of young people across the country. They provide services that support their needs, but by putting youth voices and perspectives at the center, community schools can go even further by giving young people agency to help them develop leadership skills that will carry them into adulthood. By listening and collaborating with young people in more intentional ways, community schools can move closer to their mission of removing barriers to learning and supporting young people to thrive in their communities. In this webinar, we will hear about new research on how youth voices can be supported in community schools and the efforts of the Next Gen coalition working to elevate youth voice in community schools.

The CCS RPN monthly webinar series is sponsored by the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) Coalition for Community Schools.
