Metis is excited to announce our new evaluation of two 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) afterschool programs with A+ Arts Academy! Located in Columbus, Ohio, the A+ Arts Academy Reading Advantage afterschool program adds to our already significant book of work studying the effectiveness of CCLC programming in Dayton, Ohio, and across the country.
The overarching goal of the A+ Arts Academy is to help students academically and socially by providing academic tutoring, homework help, enrichment activities, and offering families a variety of activities to support family involvement and access to resources. Additional program activities include small group and individual reading instruction, STEAM and project-based learning, evidence-based SEL instruction, positive behavior support, and art and STEM-based clubs. Senior Research Associate Dr. Lori Ramsey leads this and the Dayton 21st CCLC program evaluations.
