Metis Associates provides expert assistance to government agencies, foundations, and nonprofits that are seeking to implement effective workforce-development policies and programs. Metis helps these entities understand the current labor market, which is characterized by widening gaps between workers' skills and those required by industries as well as a trend toward outsourcing labor needs. Through collaboration with clients, Metis helps develop programs that connect workers with the skills and education necessary to get good jobs and build careers.

Metis brings expansive knowledge of the funding and policy landscape, in which the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) have become important sources of funding in communities for employment services and work supports. It combines this expertise with capabilities in applied research, evaluation and information management, and more than 20 years of practical experience in helping organizations plan and carry out workforce-development programs. Metis consultants are skilled in helping agencies to achieve successful collaborations and have been instrumental in bringing workplace partner organizations and educational institutions together.
