Metis Associates provides research, evaluation, and IT solutions for children and family services nationally and locally. Metis has worked extensively with government child-welfare agencies in many states; organizations providing foster care services; community-based programs focusing on prevention, day care, and domestic violence; and programs that provide transitional services for young people aging out of the foster care system. Metis brings to the table a deep understanding of the changing funding and policy landscape and skills to help clients succeed in the face of these challenges.

Metis has worked hand-in-hand with some of the nation’s major child-abuse-prevention initiatives, assisting agencies and organizations with planning, research and evaluation, and the establishment of data-collection systems to store, track, and report critical preventive information. We have also implemented community-needs and strengths assessments, supported national and local planning efforts, conducted quality-assurance reviews, and worked closely with programs to build capacity and support collaborative efforts. Metis’s work in support of national and local child-welfare-reform initiatives and processes, including developing hotlines, intake and investigation, placement, and ongoing case management, has brought increased cooperation and knowledge-sharing among public and private agencies concerned with child safety.
